Receiving an architectural award for the non- conventional, integral restoration of a 17th century manor house-palace is an outstanding feat. Josefa and Mariano, owners of this home, have accomplished balance between minimalism and ruralstyle, between steel and stone, between tradition and the contemporary. The house exhudes good taste and comfort inside the walls, ornate with paintings by Marisa Miñambres. Outside, the Saja-Besaya nature reserve; the beaches at Saja and Liencres and the town of Santillana del Mar. Back at home, music from a piano, wines from the cellar, the flavours of the land or a simple gathering.
